April Showers

April Showers bring new babies (and weddings)! How many baby and wedding shower invitations do you have on your fridge? I am in the midst of planning more than one shower and thought "I'm sure the rest of the world is doing the same thing I am, maybe they could use some ideas too?" Currently I am planning a sip-n-see for my best friend Brittany who just had baby girl number two. Her first baby, Anna Grace, is now two years old and it is her shower that I am going to share with you today!

We knew Anna Grace was going to be a girl so we went all out with the pink and added a little green as well. Brittany is a big breakfast fan so we decided to do a breakfast themed spread with bagels and cream cheese, grits, grapefruit, fruit kabobs, breakfast casseroles and pink frosted donuts from the best donut joint in America: Coppell's Donut Palace!

I made the diaper cake by following super easy instructions I found online. It was my first go at it and it wasn't too difficult aside from trying to find plain, white diapers. I had to peak inside three bags of diapers in Walmart just to find some without Elmo or Dora stamped all over them! The yogurt bar was my personal favorite. We provided fruit and granola to mix in with strawberry yogurt. We also used Christmas ornaments to fill apothecary jars and filled the largest jar with water and floating rubber duckies.

We served strawberry milk (Brittany's favorite), orange juice and cranberry juice and used Mint Julep cups to serve the ice water. We decorated the Christmas tree with cute little baby girl ornaments and trinkets and put all the gifts underneath. As Brittany opened her gifts we hung the precious baby girl outfits on the mantle of the fireplace on baby hangers so the guests could see them.

This was one of the gifts given to Anna Grace and I thought it was the cutest thing I have ever seen in my entire life. I am crossing my fingers for a daughter just so she (I) can have one of these!

The shower was held at the home of Melissa Fox and was hosted by Melissa, Ann Marie Tennison, Anna Smith, Annie Gasparro and yours truly. The invitations were designed by Three.

  1. I was there and it was greatness. Every detail was perfect. Yogurt bar and grits souffle were my favorites.
