Events by Shelbi Rene: Matthew and Jeanie Russell | Possum Kingdom Wedding

Matt and Jeanie's wedding is a wedding I will never forget! The ceremony and reception were both supposed to take place outside at The Grille on the Harbor on Possum Kingdom Lake but when we woke up Saturday morning to drizzly rain and thunderstorms on the radar, we made the decision to switch to Plan B. Plan B put the ceremony at a gorgeous rustic chapel on the property while the reception was able to remain at The Grille. When all was said and done, despite the rain, this was one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever coordinated. Pumpkins, lanterns, vintage signs and Fall toned flowers adorned The Grille transforming the rustic ambiance into a venue fit for a wedding.

The rain could have dampened everyone's spirits but I think we all knew how badly Texas, and this area in particular, needed it. If it is true that rain is good luck on your wedding day, I expect that Matt and Jeanie's marriage will last forever!

I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Erin Woolsey on this wedding who deserves major kudos for taking these breathtaking photos despite zero cooperation from the weather!

One of the most memorable moments of the day occurred when it was the ring bearers' turn to walk the aisle. Upon opening the doors for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to begin their descent to the stage, something upset the boys and they began to cry. This got a giggle from the guests but by the time it was their turn to walk, they were escorted to the open doors and stood, holding their teddy bears and screaming (crying, not yelling) at the awaiting guests while the flower girl stood dumbfounded between them. They proceeded down the aisle in full distress until they reached the end and I don't think I, nor the guests, have ever laughed so hard during a wedding ceremony!
