Brenden's Airplane Birthday | Dallas Event Coordinator

Yesterday I had to pleasure of decorating and coordinating an airplane-themed birthday party for a very special 3-year-old. Brenden celebrated his birthday to the fullest at the Frontiers of Flight Museum with a bounce house, a band, gourmet pizza and an airplane-themed play area! I worked with his mother, Marsha, to personalize each and every decoration down to the last water bottle. Marsha's family works for Coca-Cola so it was appropriate that the party was held in the Coca-Cola room at the museum. Three created a logo for Brenden's very own airlines and we incorporated this into the signs, labels and party favors. The journey began when guests received an invitation in the form of an airline ticket and ended with guests taking home their very own suitcase party favors. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard Brenden Airlines (and please forgive my amateur photography)!

Marsha was thoughtful enough to provide food and dessert for all guests needing a gluten-free option.

Guests were given their own suitcase filled with airplane-themed goodies and complete with a luggage tag as their parting gift for flying Brenden Airlines.

Happy 3rd birthday Brenden!

A special thank you to all the vendors that helped make this event a success...

I am aware that summer is not officially over, but in Texas we got a taste of cooler weather this week which is unheard of for August and it reminded me that Fall is just around the corner! As a result, I can't help but anticipate my favorite season with a few Etsy finds that I would love to get my hands on…

Happy Fall Ya'll (soon)!

Rustic Wedding Chic- Featured

I am honored to announce that we've been published...in a book! Our Rustic Rehearsal Dinner photo shoot has been featured in Rustic Wedding Chic, a new inspirational guide to planning your own rustic and country weddings! Erin Woolsey took these photos of our feature in the book.

Maggie Lord, the author of the book, had this to say on her blog:

The Rustic Wedding Chic Book features beautiful real weddings, stunning inspiration shoots, advice; guidance for planning a rustic wedding along with a section on how to “get the look” and of course our favorite rustic wedding resources.

Amazon has the book on sale right now so head on over to buy your own copy today!

And again, a special thank to the vendors that contributed to the photo shoot:

Dual Gender Shower- Featured on Best Baby Sites

We are humbled to be featured on Best Baby Sites today for the Dual Gender Shower we threw last year. Best Baby Sites is a wonderful website for all things baby so head on over to check out our feature and let them know you stopped by!

Tissue Poms

I subscribe to GroopDealz and today they have a great deal on pre-made tissue poms in a variety of colors that are often difficult to find at the store. The poms are $2.10 per pom plus shipping and tax. If you buy multiple, shipping is cheaper. Visit GroopDealz website to purchase.

Also, I stock up on most of my party supplies through GroopDealz. In the past they have sold everything from vintage straws and washi tape to baker's twine and milk bottles. If you subscribe to their emails you will hear about their deals first hand but order quickly! Their website has crashed multiple times when popular party items are sold and favorite colors sell out fast!

Back to School Snack

I saw these cheese stick pencils the other day while browsing Etsy and since school is almost back in session I had to share…

Passion for Parties used pink wafer cookies to resemble giant erasers and for the pencils they used cheese sticks as the base with tiny pepperoni as the eraser and bugles topped with raisins for the pencil lead. For a full tutorial on how to make these, visit Money Wise Moms.

DIY Patriotic Cake

I had saved this post for the 4th of July and then forgot I had saved it but since our patriotism has extended past the 4th due to the Olympics, it is still relevant!

Celebrate your patriotism with this simple yet eye-catching cake design from Catch My Party. Even if your country's colors are not red, white and blue, just swap out the ribbon colors to coordinate with your country's colors.

Football season is also coming up so this could be used to celebrate game day for professional, high school and collegiate sports. Head on over to Catch My Party for the full tutorial!

Creative Groomsmen Photos

Groomsmen tend to provide the comic relief for an otherwise stressful day. Below are a few of my favorite photos of groomsmen who know how to celebrate.

This photo by EE Photography includes the bridesmaids too...

Ok you caught me. These are Tommy Hilfiger models but what they lack in humor they make up for in appearance. :)

And my all time favorite...

Have a happy Friday and for those of you getting hitched this weekend, have FUN!

Olympic Rings Cocktail

I saw this lovely Olympic Rings cocktail on Pinterest but after searching online I was unable to find a recipe. I would imagine you could create your own easily using the following ingredients:
Poor water and a couple drops of food coloring into each of the rings of the ice tray and freeze. Once frozen, add to your glass with your Champagne or sparkling cider.

Another option would be to use Lifesavers candies as the colored rings which can also add a unique flavor to your drink though I can't guarantee it will taste good! :)
