I have always been fascinated with event planning. I even have a wedding planner book I compiled with friends in high school of pictures we had cut out of various wedding magazines of trends we liked at the time. You should see that book now. It's pretty terrible. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas but had to travel to good 'ole West Texas to get myself a degree at Abilene Christian University and a husband. In 2007, I graduated, got married and moved to Lubbock so my husband could get his Masters at Texas Tech University. As soon as we moved back to Dallas I shadowed an event planning firm before founding Events by Shelbi Rene. I love any excuse for a party and I LOVE to write about it so I decided to combine the two into a blog and here we are!

Outside of event planning and blogging, I of course enjoy spending time with my husband and family, baking when I have time, decorating my house and catching up on all my TV shows.
